The Music Behind the Cable: John Dreiling

The Music Behind the Cable: John Dreiling

At Slingshot Wake, we know that every wake session needs a killer soundtrack, and nobody gets that more than the athletes who hit the cable park day in, day out. That’s why we teamed up with some of our top wakeboarders to bring you The Music Behind the Cable—a series that reveals the sounds that fuel our athletes on the water.

This week we're featuring John Dreiling, a prestigious "Rider of the Year" award winner and a NOTORIOUS SENDER in the park. To be honest we expected his playlist would be filled with death metal and scream-o tracks because that's the only way we could imagine charging at the gnarliest gaps wakeboarding has ever seen (the way John does), but it turns out he draws most of his inspiration from the familiar tracks of his favorite wake videos.

"Listening to music when riding has changed the game for me. I put together a Spotify playlist of my favorite songs to vibe too while I ride.

Almost every song is pulled from a wakeboard edit. When these songs come on and I’m riding I can picture the edits and it gets me so hyped and inspired.

Check out the playlist via the link in my bio, see if you can name all the wakeboarding edits the songs are from (16 of them are from edits) and download it to catch my vibe when you’re riding yourself!"
